This might be the book that takes the cake for the best book I've read this year and it was so pitifully short. Thought short it is the perfect length. There is no fluff. The writing is beautiful, the story is brilliant. I have too many feels. I don't know what to feel. Mostly I am in awe. This is literally an awesome book.
The premise of the book being that a monster shows up to tell Conor three stories with the expectation that at the end Conor will tell him a fourth, the truth. Each of the stories were meant to show that what we want is not always what we should get.
This book illustrates perfectly the idea that people have both good and bad within them. People are selfish, angry, hurt, kind, crazy, and genuine. All of this comes through with this book.
I felt terrible by the end of this book. It is such a powerful display of pure emotion.
My goodreads review had three words. Beautiful. Sad. Truth. It is so genuine, so honest in its premise, its delivery, and its resolution.
An absolute masterpiece in my opinion and I would recommend that anyone read this if you have the chance. It will be a staple item I recommend to my friends and family.
I don't know if I articulated that well, I know that it is definitely a short review, the only thing I want you to take away from this, is that it is absolutely worth reading. I have homework to do so I think it is time for me to sign off.
